The following weekend after the Macau trip, I met my grandparents and several uncles and aunties at the Central Ferry Piers. After settling in on the top deck of our ferry to Cheung Chau, we talked about family and passed around old photos. This was my second trip to Cheung Chau and, because it was Easter weekend, the island was much more crowded this time. We arrived at around 1:30pm and got some yummy soup noodles with fish balls for lunch. Although it was a very hot and humid day, our iced lemon teas helped cut through some of the heat. As we explored Cheung Chau, we ran into several lion dances and stopped to watch their colorful displays multiple times.
After sharing some mango mochi (<3), we settled around a table inside one of the restaurants for a seafood dinner and to escape the heat. We had many delicious dishes including fried squid, razor clams, crap, prawns, abalone, and fish! I was very full by the end of the night and happy to be able to spend so much time with family. When we returned to the Central Ferry Piers, we stopped for some coffee (hot chocolate for me!) before heading to our respective homes.
